Up All Night: A History of the National Book Award Winners and Finalists in Young People's Literature

Our new online exhibition, Up All Night, is a colorful, creative exploration of the books and authors that have won or been nominated for the NBA in this category since 1969. The exhibition includes interviews, videos, collages, and other artworks contributed by past NBA authors, Innovations in Reading Prize winners, students in our BookUp program, and others.

Best of BookUp Selections, 2013

We're excited to share our second annual Best of BookUp Selections, a summer reading list straight from the middle-school students in BookUp. We asked the students at our sites in New York City and Texas to vote on their favorite books read in BookUp during the 2012-2013 school year.

Haley Tanner on Louise Erdrich's The Round House

We asked 5 Under 35 honoree Haley Tanner, author of Vaclav & Lena, to write an appreciation of Louise Erdrich's The Round House for our National Book Awards Fiction online exhibition. She writes, "Erdrich never lets us forget that the violence done here is done against a woman, against her family, against her child, and that it does not end there."
