Michael Cadnum
During the week of June 10, 2002, young adult novelist
Michael Cadnum served as author-in-residence at I.S.
145 in Jackson Heights, Queens, as part of the National
Book Foundation's Family Literacy program. He worked
with sixth graders, discussing his work, and conducting
workshops for students to develop their writing as well.
Michael Cadnum is the author of twenty novels, including
Book of the Lion, which was a 1999 National Book
Award finalist, In a Dark Wood, and Saint
Peter's Wolf.
Michael has been a Creative Writing Fellow of the National
Endowment for the Arts. He has also published several
collections of poetry books, including The Cities
We Will Never See, Illicit, and a picture
book for kids titled, The Lost and Found House.
His upcoming books are Forbidden Forest and
The Leopard Sword.
He lives in Albany, California, with his wife, Sherina
and his parrot, Luke!
