This authorized edition is the complete report of The
National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United
States, created by President George Bush with the mandate
to provide the fullest possible account of the events
surrounding September 11, 2001 and to identify the lessons
learned.
The 9/11 Commission consisted of five Republicans
and five Democrats chosen by elected leaders from our
nation's capital and was led by chairmen Thomas H. Kean
and Lee H. Hamilton. During the course of their investigation,
they reviewed millions of pages of documents, interviewed
more than 1,200 individuals in ten countries and held
19 days of hearings and took public testimony from 160
witnesses.
