A colorful celebration and exuberant history of the Harlem Renaissance.

Author Biography

Laban Carrick Hill is the author of nearly 20 novels for young adults, as well as books of poetry and biographies for Scribner's American Writers and British Writers series. After spending more than a decade researching the Harlem Renaissance, he is now at work on a young-adult novel titled Casa Azul. He has taught writing at Columbia University, Baruch College, and St. Michaels' College in Vermont.
