2026 Summer Reading Adventure
Join the National Book Foundation’s Summer Reading Adventure! Whether you loved summer reading challenges as a kid or want to try one out for the first time, we hope that readers everywhere can join us for bookish fun all summer long.
Complete any of the Reading Adventure activities below to be entered to win e-readers, book subscriptions, ice cream, and more. Complete all of the activities to be entered to win the grand prize trip including airfare, hotel, and two tickets to the 77th National Book Awards Ceremony in NYC on Wednesday, November 18, 2026!
Everyone who submits will receive a discount code for Bookshop.org and a free audiobook from Libro.fm.
Readers everywhere can click below to download a printable Adventure to check off your activities as you go. Summer Reading Adventures are available to download in English, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese.

Once you’ve completed as many of the activities as you’d like throughout the summer, visit this page to check off your completed activities and submit. Adventurers must submit by August 26, 2026 to receive your discount codes and be eligible for additional prizes.
Name, email address, city, state, and zip code are required to qualify for any prizes. Please only submit one entry per person. Winners will be chosen at random and must be based in the United States. For the grand prize, participants must complete all activities, answer the bonus question, and be 18 years or older.
