Raise a glass and share a meal with today’s most renowned authors in this unique series of literary evenings at BAMcafé. Each event includes a festive dinner by Great Performances featuring a seasonal menu and live music accompaniment. After the meal, the evening’s featured author reads from his or her work and discusses the creative process. Guests are encouraged to ask questions and have their books signed at the conclusion of the evening.

Elif Batuman is the author of the new novel The Idiot and the essay collection The Possessed, which was a finalist for the 2010 National Book Critics’ Circle Award. Between 2010 and 2013, she was based in Istanbul and wrote about Turkey for The New Yorker, where she has been a contributor since 2006.
