Alicia D. Williams is the author of Genesis Begins Again, which received a Newbery Honor, was a finalist for the Kirkus Prize for Young Readers’ Literature and the William C. Morris YA Debut Award, and which won the John Steptoe Award for New Talent. She is also author of the picture books Jump at the Sun and The Talk, which was a Coretta Scott King Honor book. An oral storyteller in the African American tradition, she lives in Charlotte, North Carolina.
