Jhumpa Lahiri

Jhumpa Lahiri (Chair), a bilingual writer and translator, is the Millicent C. McIntosh Professor of English and Director of Creative Writing at Barnard College. Her debut story collection, Interpreter of Maladies, was awarded the 2000 Pulitzer Prize in Fiction, and her collection Translating Myself and Others was a finalist for the PEN/Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay. Her most recent book, Roman Stories, was originally written in Italian and partly translated by the author.
