Matthew MATTMATT Thompson is a poet, singer-songwriter, arts educator, and music+film producer. MATTMATT is from Bedford Heights, Ohio. They are an alum of The New School’s MFA writing program, and also a fellow of Lambda Literary and Cave Canem. MATTMATT debuted their first film A Study of Him the summer of 2018, and presented their first mixtape THE DEATH TAPE July 2021. You can find MATTMATT’s writing in BOMB magazine, Racebaitr, Juked Poetry, National Book Critics Circle blog, and elsewhere. MATTMATT has edited eight anthologies of student writing and taught writing workshops for young people for the National Book Foundation, Teachers and Writers, and elsewhere. They have performed and shown filmwork across the U.S. and internationally including: Melrose Ballroom, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Pratt Institute, and the Godsbanen Museum.
