Mignon Combs is a writer, storyteller, and secondary English Language Arts educator grounded in emancipatory pedagogy. They served as editor-in-chief of the UCLA Prison Education Program’s Liberating Fictions anthology, a UCLA Undergraduate Research Fellow (URC-HAAS URFP), and a Vocal Justice Teacher Fellow. Mignon also co-founded and co-hosts Diseducation, a podcast exploring the leaky teacher diversity pipeline. Mignon believes that language empowers us to imagine a liberated future. Mignon views storytelling—the coming together of reading, writing, and community—as a critical tool to build more equitable classrooms and a more connected world.
