Rodrigo (Rod) Joseph Rodríguez is a secondary school language arts and reading teacher at William Charles Akins Early College High School in Austin, Texas. He has been teaching since the 1900s and is a graduate of Kenyon College (BA), The University of Texas at Austin (MA), and The University of Connecticut (PhD). He is a proponent of “bookjoy,” a term coined by poet and mentor Pat Mora. His most recent book is titled Youth Scribes: Teaching a Love of Writing.
