Michael G. Long has a PhD from Emory University and is the author or editor of numerous books on nonviolent protest, civil rights, LGBTQ+ rights, politics, and religion. Long’s first young adult nonfiction biography—a co-authored book titled Troublemaker for Justice: The Story of Bayard Rustin, the Man Behind the March on Washington—was selected as a best book of the year by the Bank Street Center, Kirkus Reviews, and School Library Journal. Long has also written on civil rights and protest for the Los Angeles Times, ESPN, the Chicago Tribune, the AFRO, and USA Today, among others. Long lives in Lower Allen Township, Pennsylvania.
