Including the National Book Foundation in your estate planning is a meaningful way to make a lasting investment in reading and the literary ecosystem. Planned gifts allow the Foundation to continue celebrating literature and connecting books with readers as it has for more than seven decades.
Bequests
Specify that a gift be made to the National Book Foundation (Tax ID: 13-3347524) as part of your estate plan. If you need sample language, we suggest: “I give to the National Book Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located at 90 Broad Street, Suite 604, New York, NY 10004, [a dollar amount or percentage of estate] to be used for its general purposes.”
Beneficiary Designations: IRA, Life Insurance, and other Non-Probate Assets
Designate the National Book Foundation as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy or retirement, investment, and/or bank accounts. To make your gift, contact the person or trustee who helps you with your retirement account or insurance policy. They will send you a new beneficiary designation form to complete, sign, and return.
If you have named the National Book Foundation in your estate plans, please let us know so we can thank you for your generosity, and ensure that your gift is used according to your wishes.
If you have questions, or would like to learn more about ways to support the National Book Foundation, please contact Director of Development Meg Tansey at mtansey@nationalbook.org or 212-685-0261.
Thank you!
